Jeanette Staley featured at River Artisans Co-op
Press release | Jun 02, 2014 | Comments 0
June’s River Artisans Cooperative featured artist is painter and collage artist Jeanette Staley, whose painting career has spanned more than 30 years.
As proprietor of an art studio in Hudson, Mass., for 12 years, she provided a venue to support emerging visual and performing artists and musicians. Staley taught classes in painting and collage to students of all ages and organized and executed group and individual art exhibits.
In 2001 she closed the Art Center relocating to Vermont where she continues to teach and paint. She was awarded a Creation Grant through the Vermont Arts Council in 2005, and took that creative opportunity to produce a new series of large works combining painting and collage. These large paintings, often incorporating ripe, curvaceous pears and enticing apples, led to studies of smaller work, eventually finding their way onto boards.
The River Artisans is located at 26B Main St., Saxtons River. The shop carries the work of more than 50 juried area craftspeople and welcomes prospective new members to submit work. The shop is open weekdays noon to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call the shop at 802-869-2099 during work hours.
