Sept. 3: Local artists featured at Whiting through October

Whiting Library, 117 Main St., in Chester presents  Hidden Talent, an art exhibit featuring local artists. The free exhibit highlights the creative accomplishments of Charlea Baker, Elizabeth Beliveau, Ronald Chute, Wendy Hayward, Sharon Lefebvre, Christine Mix, Edwin Pell, Frieda Post, Bonnie Watters and Stephanie Whitney-Payne.

This show runs from Wednesday Sept. 3 through Friday, Oct. 31. View during library hours Monday and Friday 10 a.m.– to 6 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Trouble with the Curve a baseball drama at the Ludlow Town Hall Auditorium Saturday

Sept. 6: Eastwood baseball flick plays Ludlow Auditorium

Friends of the Ludlow Auditorium’s September movie will be Trouble with the Curve, a baseball movie starring Clint Eastwood, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Ludlow Town Hall Auditorium, 37 Depot St., Ludlow.

Trouble with the Curve is a PG-13 sports-drama directed by Robert Lorenz and starring Eastwood, Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake, Matthew Lillard and John Goodman. The film revolves around an aging baseball scout whose daughter joins him on a scouting trip.

Gus Lobel (Eastwood) is given one last assignment to prove his value to the organization. This free movie is open to the public; donations are appreciated. Popcorn will be provided courtesy of Berkshire Bank and water courtesy of FOLA. For more information, www.fola.us and 802-228-7239.

Oct. 12:  4th annual Blanche Moyse memorial concert

Past members of the New England Bach Festival Orchestra will join the Blanche Moyse Chorale in Vermont’s leaf-color season to honor the memory of their mentor, Blanche Moyse, to take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, at Marlboro College’s Persons Auditorium, in Marlboro.

The concert includes four of J.S. Bach’s choral motets, plus two of his well-known works for chamber orchestra,

Tickets are $20, in advance; $22 at the door; $35 for preferred seatingand $5 for students. All tickets may be obtained from the Brattleboro Music Center at 802-257-4523, online at brattleborotix.com/boxoffice or bmcvt.org, or from any chorale member. Persons Auditorium is handicapped-accessible. For any special seating needs, advance reservation is appreciated.
