Dakin takes over as president of Chester Rotary

The Chester Rotary Club observed the Passing of the Gavel to new President Bill Dakin on Thursday, June 25. Dakin becomes the service organization’s 75 president.

Outgoing President Brian Morris started off the ceremony by stressing that the Chester Rotary is a small but effective club achieving its goals through the dedication of its members. Club member and treasurer Steven Davis also spoke of the positive changes that have taken place under Morris’s tenure.

Dakin said that he hopes to strengthen the Rotary Exchange program, grow the club by two members, fortify its bonds with the Green Mountain Union High School Interact Club and continue to have the “best breakfast of the week” on Thursdays at the Fullerton Inn.

The Chester Rotary Club offers members opportunities such service to the community, networking, meeting others with like interests and engaging speakers. The Chester Rotary meets at the Fullerton Inn every Thursday during the year except on holidays. The first Thursday of the month features an evening speaker from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., while the other Thursday meetings are held at 7 a.m. The public is invited to all Rotary meetings.
