Visit the local artists’ studios along the Putney Crafts Tour

The Putney Craft Tour invites visitors to meet the 23 makers on this year’s tour including blacksmiths, glass blowers, potters, jewelers, weavers, woodworkers and artisan cheesemakers.

The tour takes place on Thanksgiving weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 27, 28 and 29.

The tour features a performance at Sandglass Theater and food specials in participating restaurants. Each studio on the tour will showcase an object for sale with the proceeds going to the Foodshelf.

Visitors may start at The Gleanery Restaurant, 133 Main St.,  or at the Putney General Store, 4 Kimball Hill Road,  for information, maps and a preview exhibition of the artisans’ works. Download brochure and more details at www.putneycrafts.com.

Create a hand-cut seasonal decoration in class in Londonderry

F[dropcap]rom 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27 the Mountain Painters and Artisan Gallery, offers a Beginner’s Level Scherenschnitte Paper Ornament Art Class.

Students will learn the ancient art of paper cutting, create at least one 3-dimensional ornament and go home with paper and patterns to make more.

The Mountain Painters and Artisan Gallery is located at 5700 Route 100, Mountain Market Place in Londonderry. Class fee is $35 per person and includes all materials. Class size is limited so registration and prepayment is required.

Nov. 28: Author to sign books at Book Nook

[dropcap]The Book Nook, 136 Main St. in Ludlow, hosts Vermont author Howard Frank Mosher on Saturday, Nov. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. chatting with customers and signing books.  There will be copies of Mosher’s new book, God’s Kingdom, as well as others on sale for purchase.
