Telegraph logoA Rutland Town man failed to make a corner in Mt. Holly last night and crashed his pick up truck into a house at Hortonville and Cole roads, according to state police.

No one as injured, police said.

Troopers from the Rutland barracks responded to a report of the crash at 10:10 p.m. to find that Garrett Lever’s truck “had been lodged fully into the living room of the residence, completely going through an exterior wall.” Police said that Lever had tried to reverse out of the house but became hung up on a well. Neighbors told police that two passengers had fled the scene before police arrived, but Lever remained with the truck.

Police said that one of the owners of the house was in a room adjacent to the living room and was only feet from where an interior wall stopped the truck. Lever refused to take a breath alcohol test and troopers took him into custody, charging him with driving under the influence.

Mt. Holly Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the scene.
