A Sign of Mud Season

Photo by Cynthia Prairie. The sign on Popple Dungeon Road gets stolen several times a year, leaving residents of "The Dungeon" with a gaping hole until the town creates a new one. This time, however, someone with a sense of humor has taken it upon themselves to not only replace the sign, but add a bit of levity as well. Assistant Town Clerk Julie Hance says that town government had nothing to do with creating the Pothole Dungeon sign, and it will be replaced in a few weeks. UPDATE: The Pothole Dungeon sign was reported missing on Tuesday afternoon, March 13.

    This is awesome! Any chance you can add FB and Twitter links in the future?

    In East Dover on Yeaw Road (similar to Popple Dungeon) there’s a sign that the Select Board approved that says the following (in all caps too): “YOUR GPS IS WRONG!!! ROAD CLOSED IN WINTER MONTHS.”

    Way cool! Kudos to whoever pulled that off. The last Popple Dungeon sign in its fortress frame had a pretty good track record, but alas and alack! It too bit the dust. Makes for interesting conversation, though, year-round.
