Time to start polishing the clubs for the 2nd Annual Chester Rotary Charitable Golf Tournament, to be held at the Tater Hill Golf Course on Sunday, June 3. Click here for a registration form.
Proceeds from this year’s tournament will go to benefit Chester Emergency Services, according to tournament organizer Ron Theissen.
“The beneficiary changes every year,” Theissen said in an e-mail. “This year’s choice of Chester Emergency Services stems from the committee wanting to place focus on community organizations in need of assistance. They felt that the Emergency Services division was in high need for support at this time.” Last year’s tournament funded college scholarships for Green Mountain Union High School students.
Member Rich Stocker said the Rotary benefit will help purchase equipment for summer emergencies.
The tournament will take place rain or shine. Registration begins at noon, with tee assignments being handed out as well. There is a shotgun start at 1 p.m. A buffet dinner will be available at the Tater Hill restaurant beginning around 5:30 p.m. with an awards presentation to follow.
Tee assignments will be handed out at noon. Registrants can arrive early to practice on the putting green or use the driving range.
Entry fee is $125 for an individual golfer, $400 for a foursome or $500 for a foursome and tee sponsorship. Those who want to contribute without playing may sponsor a hole for $125. A sign will be placed at each tee box recognizing the sponsor.
Golf fees include use of the greens, shared cart and dinner. More dinner guests may be included for $25 each. Drinks are not included.
The lucky (or incredibly skillful) player who shoots a hole in one will win a $20,000 prize. Tater Hill Golf Course is located at 6802 Popple Dungeon Road, Windham, VT 05143.
Checks should be payable to Rotary Club of Chester, VT Inc. and mailed with the signup form to:
