Rep. Leigh Dakin is inviting all residents in the Chester, Andover, Baltimore and Springfield communities to attend a presentation and open forum on Vermont Health Connect from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at NewsBank Conference Center, 352 Main St., in Chester.
Robin Lunge, director of the governor’s Office on Health Reform, will provide information on Vermont Health Connect, the state’s health care exchange system that is being instituted under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also know as Obamacare. The discussion will include information about health insurance options and premiums and purchase subsidies that will be available through Vermont Health Connect.
Dakin, who sits on the state House Committee on Health Care, has also participated in training to become a health care navigator, which will allow her to provide assistance to Vermonters purchasing insurance through Health Connect.
If you have questions, Dakin can be reached at 802-875-3456 and ldakin@leg.state.vt.us.
