Net Zero of Chester partners to bring AllSun Trackers to S. VT; SBA honors six small businesses

A dealer partnership between installer Net Zero Renewable Resources LLC of Chester and Williston, VT-based solar tracker manufacturer AllEarth Renewables has been announced that will bring the Vermont-made AllSun Tracker solar systems to southern Vermont.

AllSun Trackers use innovative GPS and wireless technology to follow the sun throughout the day to boost solar energy production by up to 45 percent over roof-top installations. The ground-mounted solar systems are designed for homes, businesses, non-profits and commercial-scale installations.
Electrical boards for the tracker are produced in Springfield, VT, at PCM Manufacturing. A single solar tracker will produce enough to power most of an average Vermont home.

The first AllSun Trackers installed by Net Zero Renewable Resources were commissioned on June 4 at a home in Springfield, where solar energy will offset both the home’s traditional electric use as well as the electricity used for geothermal heating. The project, consisting of two 7.2kW trackers, paired high efficiency, 300 watt LG panels with the high efficiency dual-axis tracker.

Net Zero Renewable Resources is a renewable energy company that provides full service solar engineering, design, installation and equipment services for residential and commercial customers.

SBA honors six small businesses

MONTPELIER
Gov. Peter Shumlin presented the Vermont Small Business Person of the Year to Bill Cherry and Jeff Neiblum, owners of Switchback Brewing Co. of Burlington, in an event held last Tuesday at the Shelburne Museum Pizzagalli Center.

The Small Business Administration Vermont District Office has awarded Small Business Person of the Year annually since 1967. Previous Vermont Small Business Person of the Year recipients include Ben and Jerry’s, Vermont Teddy Bear Co. and Dealer.com.

During the ceremony, five other Vermont businesses and SCORE also were recognized.

Awards were presented to:

Sidehill Farm of Brattleboro as the Family-Owned Business of the Year,

The Bee’s Knees of Morrisville as the Woman-Owned Business of the Year,

Vermont Bean Crafters of Waitsfield as the Young Entrepreneur of the Year,

Grow Compost of Vermont, based in Waterbury, as the Microenterprise of the Year and

Super Thin Saws of Waterbury as the Exporter of the Year.

SCORE, originally the Senior Corps of Retired Executives, is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Comprised of volunteers and funded by the SBA, SCORE assists small businesses through education and mentorship.
