Annual Chester Fireworks in need of more donations
Press release | Aug 25, 2014 | Comments 2
Organizers for the annual Chester Fireworks and Old Home Day, which will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30 at the American Legion Post 67 in Chester, are in need of more donations to pay for the much-loved fireworks.
The cost of the fireworks alone runs between $5,500 and $7,000 annually and is paid for entirely by private donations.
If you are able to donate to the Chester Fireworks, please make a check payable in any amount to Chester Fireworks and mail it or drop it off at TDBank, 48 Main St., Chester, 05143. You may also donate at various shops around town that have a Chester Fireworks tin.
Old Home Day begins at 4 p.m. at the Chester American Legion, 637 VT 103 S., with plenty of good food, fresh-squeezed lemonade and limeade and games and music by Chester’s own DV8.
Fireworks will begin at dark.

A big “Thank You” to all who donated to this year’s fireworks. This is a community effort. Every dollar helps to make the fireworks possible. There is an account at TDBank on Main St in Chester that will accept your check made out to “Chester Fireworks” at any time during the coming year.
Probably too late for this year, but if there was a way to donate online, I’m sure plenty of us expats would kick in!
