Annual rummage sale seeks donations; fabric artist featured at River Artisans Cooperative

Black River Good Neighbor Services will hold its Annual Fall Rummage Sale at Fletcher Farm, 611 Route 103 S. in Ludlow on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19 and 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The organization is now accepting donations of clothing, housewares, linens and furniture.
To donate, bring items to the thrift store at 37B Main St. in Ludlow or for larger items, such as furniture, call 802-228-3663 to arrange a drop off time.
Proceeds from this sale benefit BRGNS’ food and financial assistance programs. Funds raised will help cover the cost of utilities, heating fuel, food and rent for qualified individuals and families in Ludlow, Mt. Holly, Belmont, Proctorsville, Cavendish and Plymouth.

Flo Nestor is River Artisans Cooperative’s featured artist
Flo Nestor of Newfane is September’s Artist of the Month at the River Artisans Cooperative, 26B Main St., Saxtons River. Nestor, a newcomer to the cooperative, is the owner of Common Scents Sachet, a business she began one-and-a-half years ago.
Through the years, Nestor she has been a designer and creator of costumes, clothing, draperies and a variety of crafts. She was set on her new venture while designing her daughter-in-law’s wedding gown and bridesmaids’ dresses. Working with the beautiful silk fabrics inspired her to focus on designing one-of-a-kind sachets. Her product line offers sachets and eye pillows for men and women from quality cottons and linens with fragrances including lavender and balsam, apple and spice potpourri pumpkins, and balsam-scented favors for the holiday dinner table.
Choose from a selection of Nestor’s sachets and aromatic eye pillows at the River Artisans Cooperative shop. The cooperative is open noon from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The cooperative sells items from more than 50 juried-members keep the store filled with a wide variety of items, each finely crafted by hand and priced reasonably.
