Press release | Mar 09, 2015 | Comments 0
103 Artisans Marketplace is featuring 3 Guys Makin’ Stuff, highlighting the works of woodcarver Mike Earle, Joseph Bedard, who creates reclaimed wood furniture and bowls, and metal artist Payne Junker, through Sunday, March 29 at the gallery.
Junker’s work combines traditional ironwork techniques combined with plasma torch and heat, movement and play of light on steel. Kenetic sculptures, wall art and lamps are included in this show.
Earle has an artist’s eye in finding his subject inside the raw wood, carving away the layers to reveal the personality of the creature inside.
And Bedard is exploring an approach to furniture design using reclaimed wood and hardware from farm and factory, to create new and unusual forms-sculptural and serviceable.
All three are New England craftsmen.
103 Artisans Marketplace, Route 103 at Pine View Road in Chester, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Monday (closed Tuesday). For more information, call 802-875-7400.
