Heath Gordon Scholarship seeks auction donations, sets music fundraiser for March 28

The second annual Heath Gordon Scholarship Fundraiser will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 28 at the American Legion in Chester, Route 103 West.

All proceeds will be used to support Green Mountain Union High alumni pursuing a college degree in either art or music.

Sponsors are currently looking for items to auction off during the event. Items may be dropped off at Salon 2000 at Avon Road and Elm Street in Chester. Some of the items currently for auction are clothing, jewelry, gift certificates, art prints and photographs, gift baskets and more.

This year, the scholarship officially became a nonprofit in Vermont and received its federally tax exempt 501(c)3 status as a public charity, making all financial donations as well as auction item donations tax deductible. Many donated aution items can be deducted as well, but always consult your personal tax preparer.

Doors for this music and auction event open at 7 p.m. with a $10 cover. There will be three musical acts, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and live auction.

Popular Vermont band Vehicle will be rounding out the night belting out popular music mainly from the ’80s and early ’90s. This will be a reunion show for the band, with Roy Brown on lead vocals, Bernie Moss on lead guitar, Keith McKane on guitars and keyboards, Paul Bocchiaro on keyboards and saxophone, Jim Murphy on bass and Gary Spaulding on drums.
