To the editor: Huge thanks to all who helped with successful 2015 Heath Gordon fundraiser

It was a fantastic night, and the Heath Gordon Scholarship Fund has a ton of people to thank. We were able to raise $5,100 at our 2nd annual fundraiser on Saturday night. All proceeds will go to a deserving Green Mountain Union High School senior or GM alumni pursuing a college degree in either art or music.

First off, we would like to thank all of the great folks that came out to our event. We tried to keep track of our numbers and our best guess is we had more than 225 people attend throughout the night. This event is the backbone of our fundraising efforts and we appreciate everyone coming out to support us.

Also, We would like to thank everyone who gave us auction items. Lots of individuals and business owners were very generous and we truly appreciate it.

Those donors we would like to recognize, include: Louanne Metcalf, Mo’s Fudge Factor, Hannah Kingsbury, Tracy Metcalf, Greg Pajala, Shannon Parker, Jack Dowd Studios, Bromley Mountain, Sarah Yake, Stratton Adventures, Lew Watters, Bonnie’s Bundles, Donna Jarvis, Sue Gordon, Salty Sista, Gail Stewart, GM, TD Bank, Erskine’s Feed and Grain, Chester Hardware, Misty Valley Bookstore, Holly May, Eclipz Salon, Scott Bemis, Sage Jewelry, Meditrina, Sama Yoga, Jiffy Mart, chandler4corners, Willow Farm, Running Bear Campground, Naomi’s Cose Bella, Claremont Country Club, Jiffy Mart,

Chester Acupuncture and the Edgar May Recreational Center.

We want to thank our musicians: Holly May, and Troy Millette, as well as Roy Brown, Bernie Moss, Keith McKane, Paul Bocchiaro, Jim Murphy and Gary Spaulding — or as you know them: Vehicle. Thanks also goes to Rob Bridge of Helmet Studios, who held things all together doing production and sound all night.

Special thanks to Roy Brown, not only did he play in Vehicle, but he coordinated all the great music we had throughout the night.

We want to thank Ed Peterson for his help coordinating the venue for us at the American Legion and for allowing us to again use of its Great Hall.

We would like to thank Sarah Yake and Hannah Monier for allowing us to use Salon 2000 as our unofficial headquarters in town.

Thanks to Donna Allen for some great exposure in the local papers. Also a thank you to Cynthia Prairie of The Chester Telegraph, and Joe Milliken of the blog Standing Room Only.

Every dollar we get is important to us, but we would like to take a moment and thank a few of our business owners who gave us some pretty big checks: Record Concrete of Chester, DP Industries of Vassalboro, ME, and Spence Dental of Claremont, NH.

Also a special thanks to Rick Bliss and Bliss Farms. This year on New Year’s Eve, Rick offered to match all donations up to $500 until the clock struck 12. So all day long we had an online fundraising drive on our Facebook page to see if we could hit $500, and take full advantage of Rick’s offer. Not only did we match the $500, we raised quite a bit more. It was a great way to end our year. Thank you Rick.

Rick also very generously donated a great auction item for us – 100 gallons of heating oil.

Lastly want to thank the Heath Gordon Scholarship Board members: Tracy Metcalf, Scott Bemis, John Yake, Roy Brown and Bryan Ballinger. Also like to thank my mom, Sue Gordon, for all her help, too much to list here. If we forgot anyone, I truly apologize.

Thank you,

Sam Gordon
