Brother and sister noted for Vermont library travels

Whiting library

Lily and Noah Jones

The Whiting Library winners of a statewide program to get Vermonters to visit as many state libraries as possible are brother and sister  Noah and Lily Jones.

The Vermont Library Association Passport to Vermont Libraries program handed out “passports” to patrons, who then took them to libraries around the state to be stamped.

The Jones siblings each got 17 stamps in their passports and received prizes from Whiting, which is located on Main Street in Chester. They were also entered into a statewide drawing where three winners will win a grand prize provided by VLA.

Noah, Lily and their mother Amy said they they had a great time going to new libraries.

The program ran June 1 to Sept. 1 and 99 public and academic libraries handed out passports and encouraged patrons to visit Vermont libraries. All visitors received a stamp in their passport and a small memento of their visit.

The passport program was open to three categories of patrons: Adult, Young Adult, Children. At the end the program, each library determined which patrons from each category had visited the most libraries.
