State Police incident log for Nov. 5 – Nov. 30, 2015

Editor’s Note: The Vermont State Police incident report is a sampling of incidents directly from Vermont State Police. We do not identify individual victims of crimes nor those who have been arrested.

VSP logo incident reportThursday Nov. 5, Andover – A contractor doing work on East Hill Road reported that while the crew was away from the job site, someone had stolen power tools. Police requested information from anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area

Friday Nov. 6, South Londonderry – State Police assisted a citizen who reported a theft in the Stratton area. The report was forwarded to the Windham County Sheriff’s Department.

Friday Nov. 6, South Londonderry – A complainant called the State Police to go on record that a person was hanging around in a nearby parking area. The complainant told police that the person had no business being there.

Friday Nov. 6, Andover – State Police received reports of a box truck suspected of involvement in the theft of tools the previous day on East Hill Road. Police found that the truck belonged to a spray insulation company.

Saturday Nov. 7, Londonderry – Police responded to the Lowell Lake area for the report of a suspicious vehicle that was thought to be casing the neighborhood. The vehicle was not found, but a patrol was directed to check on the area.

Saturday Nov. 7, Windham – A complainant made a report of a theft from a seasonal home. Entry was not forced as the burglar found the owner’s hidden key. A television, hiking shoes and a sleeping bag were taken.

Sunday Nov. 8, Londonderry/Weston – State Police responded to the Mountain Marketplace in Londonderry for a disturbance. On investigation, a 24-year-old Weston man was arrested in Weston for aggravated domestic assault and driving under the influence. He was held at Southern State Correctional Facility on $2,500 bail.

Tuesday Nov. 11, Grafton – State police received a report that a caller had left a “threatening and degrading” phone message at the home of an Iberdrola Renewables employee in response to the company’s development plans for a wind installation on a ridgeline in that town. This case remains under investigation.

Saturday Nov. 21, Saxtons River – In what may have been a neighborhood dispute, a resident’s barn was broken into with the door being damaged. It did not appear that anything had been taken.

Wednesday, Nov. 25, Grafton – Police responded to the report of a vehicle off the road at Route 35 and Eastman Road. The trooper found the car in the woods. The operator had walked away from the crash and had gotten a ride to Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend. Police issue a warning for “driving on roadways lined for traffic.”

Sunday, Nov. 29, Landgrove – A VSP patrol car responded to the report of a traffic hazard at Route 11 and Landgrove Road. It was reported that there was a couch in the roadway, but by the time the trooper arrived, the couch had left the area.

Monday Nov. 30, South Londonderry – Employees at the Town Office on Old School Road reported that someone had broken into the building. As the office had been the focus of previous break-ins, valuables had been locked up. The thief did make off with the coffee fund however.
