VSAC offers college aid workshops at high schools

VSAC logo Beginning in January, Vermont Student Assistance Corp. will offer free workshops to help families fill out college financial aid forms at local high schools.

The informal workshops offer guidance on filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  FAFSA is the basis for determining eligibility for federal Pell grants, VSAC’s Vermont State Grant, financial aid from the college that the student attends and for student loans.

Students and parents can also learn about the college financial aid process, including how to apply for scholarships.

Internet access will be available and space is limited. Participants should bring the following: Social Security number; most recent federal tax return; and most recent W-2 or year-end pay stub. All documentation will be confidential and used solely to fill out individual forms.
