Kids build a universe of worlds at annual LEGO contest

With construction categories from pre-kindergarten to seventh grade plus family entries, the clever uses of the little plastic blocks included large buildings, fantasy aircraft and even a working foosball table. First and second place winners were named in the nine grade categories, as well as Family, Best in Show, Most Vermont, Creators Choice and Most Mechanical. Each awardee was given a new Lego kit.
NewsBank donated the space while Lisai’s Chester Market donated drinks and Allen Bros. donated doughnuts. St. Luke’s Episcopal Church sponsors the annual event to benefit the church and the Children’s Room at the Whiting Library in Chester. The amount to be donated was not available by publishing time.
