Education NewsRobert Haseltine, a Chester and student at Green Mountain Union High School, has won a $3,000 scholarship to Paul Smith’s College after participating in the Presidential Scholarship competition on campus.

Haseltine was one of 69 competitors at the event, held on Saturday, Feb. 27. Recipients who choose to attend Paul Smith’s are eligible to receive the scholarships annually for as long as they are enrolled.

Ryan J. Smith of Weston is one of five students who successfully completed five weeks of intense training and testing to receive the Microsoft Office Specialist Global Certification during the fall semester 2015. Smith is a Sport Management major at Western New England University in Springfield, Mass.

The Global Microsoft Office Specialist credential is the leading IT certification in the world, with more than 1 million MOS exams taken every year in over 140 countries.
