Leadership program holds info mixer in Springfield

Leadership Southeast Vermont will be holding an informational mixer from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at the Hartness House, 30 Orchard St. in Springfield. Enjoy complementary appetizers and a cash bar while learning about the Leadership program. Connect and socialize with other leaders in our region. Meet alumni and hear about their experiences in the program and the benefits to their communities and careers.

Leadership Southeast Vermont is an intensive, interactive program that runs from September through June with a full day meeting once a month. The mission of the course is to prepare leaders to strengthen our communities and to foster civic awareness.

Presenters include state and local officials as well as community and business leaders. Small biz center hosts financing workshop

Vermont Small Business Development Center is sponsoring a workshop, Alternative Financing Resources for Your Business, at Marlboro Graduate Center, Room 2E, in Brattleboro from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, June 7.

VT Small Business Development CenterThis workshop will cover the many alternative sources of funding available to Vermont businesses directly from the source. There will be 90 minutes of panel discussion, followed by 30 minutes for individual meetings between lenders and business owners. Get all your questions answered.

The workshop is ideal for business owners who are having difficulty obtaining traditional financing due to the unproven nature of their business, their small size, collateral situation or unconventional product line.

Panelists will include; Janice St. Onge of Flexible Capital Fund, Janice Shade of Milk Money, David Blow of the Vermont Economic Development Agency, Leah Fury of Community Capital of Vermont, and Sean Long of Merchants Bank in Bennington.
