The following students recently graduated Castleton University and were recognized during the 229th commencement on May 7.

Olivia Bartlett of Chester graduated with an Associate of Science in Nursing.

McKala Benson of Chester graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Taylor LeFevre of Chester  graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Psychology.

Joshua McLaughlin of Chester graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies.

Sarah Rusch of Chester graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

Jennifer A. Spero of Londonderry was named to to University of Rhode Island’s spring 2016 Dean’s List.

To be included on the Dean’s List, students must have completed 12 or more credits during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 credits with a 3.30 quality point average

Karen Zuppinger of Chester recently completed the intensive MedAssets-Precyse pre-apprenticeship education program, and was recognized in a ceremony in Rutland.

Earlier this year, more than 350 Vermont residents applied to be selected for one of the slots in Vermont HITEC’s Certified Medical Coder Program, which prepares students for the American Academy of Professional Coders  medical coding certification exam. Upon graduation, participants are provided a certified medical coder apprentice position at MedAssets-Precyse. These positions receive full wages and benefits.

The Certified Medical Coder Program is a collaborative effort involving the U.S. Department of Labor, Vermont Department of Labor, Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development, Vermont HITEC and MedAssets-Precyse.
