Springfield Rotary awards scholarships to three

Tyler Putnam, center, son of late Rotarian Paul Putnam, congratulates the winners of this year’s Paul Putnam Memorial Agriculture Scholarship. The two Springfield residents will each receive a $1,000 scholarship, thanks to the generosity of the Putnam family.

Springfield Rotarians Bob Flint, left, Jim Fog, center, and Ed McQuaide, far right, congratulate the winners of this year’s Rotary Club scholarships, Elizabeth Mackenzie and Joshua Hoy. Each will receive a $2,500 scholarship for their college education. Proceeds from the annual Penny Sale — this year’s to be held on Saturday, Oct. 22 — help to fund the Rotary scholarship program.
