Tom Bock jumped out to an early lead over Melody Reed in the race for Vermont state representative from the Windsor 3-1 District, which includes Chester, Andover, Baltimore and North Springfield.

Polling 251 votes to Reed’s 209 in the town of Chester, the former Chester Select Board member benefited from a large turnout. In Chester, 468 Democrats ballots were voted compared to 182 Republican and two Progressive ballots.

By 8:15 p.m., Baltimore Town Clerk Deborah Bean told The Telegraph that the race was close there with Reed scoring 13 to 12 votes in a town that cast 25 Democratic ballots and 19 Republican.

Results have not been available from the towns of Andover and No. Springfield, but it appears from a tally on the Vermont Secretary of State’s website that Reed scored 24 votes to Bock’s 11 in North Springfield. Baltimore has yet to report its results to the state.

Those numbers would put the 8:45 tally for the State House seat in Windsor 3-1 at 274 for Bock to 246 for Reed. These are unofficial results that are subject to confirmation.

The Telegraph will update these and Windsor County Senate results in greater detail later tonight.
