S. Derry Free Library is preparing for its Street Fair.

The South Londonderry Free Library is planning its South Derry Street Fair, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, 
Oct. 8 at 15 Old School Road on the grounds of the Library and the Town Office in South Londonderry.

The group is looking for volunteers to help set up and to sell items such as baked goods donated to the library.

Also, vendors are needed for the tag sale. Booth space is 10-foot by 10-foot. Vendors may bring anything they choose to sell. Businesses are welcome to promote their business. Crafters are also welcome. The vendor fee is a $35 donation. Book early as booth space is limited.

Donors are needed for the White Elephant Booth. Call or email to arrange delivery and/or pick-up. Donate only serviceable items such as rugs, furniture, art, sap buckets, knick-knacks, tools, kitchen utensils and bikes. No TVs, electronics, upholstered furniture, skis, clothing or stuffed toys.

Bakers are needed to donate baked goods of their choosing, call 802-824-3371 or drop it off at the library on Oct. 7.

New board members for Chester-Andover Family Center,
thanks for myriad donations

The Chester-Andover Family Center, 908 Route 103 East, has added three members on its Board of Directors. Along with new ideas and perspectives, Ginger Roper, Mariette Bock and Suellen Slater bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the board.

Recent donations include 100 boxes of Girl Scout cookies from a local Girl Scout Troop and yard work including clearing underbrush and cutting down small birches performed by Serve Vermont, a summer service piece of the Youth@Hope ministry at Hope Community Church in King of Prussia, Pa.

The Fifth Annual Hot Dog Cook-off held at the Stone Hearth Inn in Chester on Aug. 13 raised $3,000 for the center through its Silent Auction. The  center thanks Stephanie Mahoney and Nena Nanfeldt for coordinating the Silent Auction and businesses and individuals who donated items for the auction.

Ludlow Rotary Club seeks 2017 calendar entries

ludlow-calendar-2016Members of the Ludlow Rotary Club have begun work on their calendar for 2017.

The Rotary Club annually publishes a calendar that is distributed throughout the area. Do you have a birthday, anniversary, or other special event that will take place in 2017? Is your organization or church planning a big event? The Ludlow Rotary Club will add your special date or dates to the community-wide calendar.

Subscription forms where you can define each special event may be picked up in Ludlow at Peoples Bank, the Ludlow Insurance Agency, Bensons Chevrolet and Heritage Family Credit Union or from individual Rotarian.

Each listing is $1. Deadline for submission is Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016. The calendars are free and will be available at local businesses in mid-December of this year.
