“We believe in making skiing affordable and the Freedom Pass fits that vision” said Geoff Hatheway, president of Ski Magic LLC. “We also decided to become partners in the Freedom Pass this year as it helps support other like-minded independent ski areas.”
Ski Magic LLC is the partnership of 13 investors who agreed to buy Magic earlier this year. The closing is expected to take place in October.
According to Hatheway, the Freedom Pass was created two seasons ago with the goal of offering flexibility and added value to pass holders at six New England ski and snowboard areas. In the past, there was an additional charge to upgrade to the Freedom Pass, but this season upgrade is automatic and free and the number of ski areas has increased.
Freedom Pass holders will be able to get three complimentary lift tickets at each partner mountain this season. There is a limit of one ticket per pass holder, per day and a limit of three tickets per pass holder at each partner mountain over the season.
Participating mountains include Vermont’s Bolton Valley and Magic Mountain; New Hampshire’s Black Mountain, Dartmouth Skiway, Granite Gorge, McIntyre Ski Area and Pajarito Mountain; New York’s Plattekill Mountain; in Maine, Lost Valley; as well as Eaglecrest in Alaska, Mount Bohemia in Michigan, Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort in New Mexico and Ski Cooper in Colorado.
