Buy bulbs to light up Chester in the spring

king-alfredNow is the time to order bulbs from Chester Townscape for fall planting providing a burst of color in early 2017. This year Chester Townscape’s main focus is the bright yellow King Alfred daffodil bulb.

The bulbs may be planted on your own property or you may purchase bulbs to donate back to the group for the Chester beautification project. All bulbs, along with planting instructions, may be purchased from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the front desk of the Fullerton Inn at 40 The Common in Chester.

A mini-bag of six bulbs is $5. A regular bag of 12 bulbs is $10. For larger, more brilliant displays, participants can become a 40-Watt Donor (48 bulbs for $40), a 60-Watt Donor (72 bulbs for $60), or a 100-Watt Donor (120 bulbs for $100). Proceeds from the bulb sale will help fund Chester Townscape’s growing list of enhancement projects and add to the appeal and character of the town for those who live, work or do business here.

Orders for bulbs may be taken by any member of Chester Townscape or by contacting Carol Gilbert by calling 802-875-1599. Order forms are also available at the Whiting Library at 117 Main St. in Chester.
