To the editor: BRGNS thanks all who helped make Rummage Sale a success

The staff and clients at Black River Good Neighbor Services thank all of the volunteers, donors and customers who made our annual Fall Rummage Sale a success. We put a tremendous effort into offering quality merchandise at fair prices and we spend many, many hours into setting up the barns and lawn at Fletcher Farm for the best buyer experience. We are all very grateful for the response that we received.
All proceeds from this sale go into our food and financial assistance programs to help people in Ludlow, Cavendish, Proctorsville, Plymouth, Mount Holly and Belmont. We all hear about how many people in Vermont, including our area, need food and other assistance. At BRGNS, we know firsthand the need and the work that it takes to fill that need. A successful rummage sale means we can provide more fresh and nutritious food for those who need it. While these sales do not cover all of our expenses each year, they go a long ways toward that goal.
Unfortunately, hunger is a deep and continuing problem in Vermont and we will need to run another rummage sale again in the spring in addition to having daily sales in our thrift store. But right now, we just wish to say thank you to all who donated merchandise to us for this sale, to all who volunteered their time to run the sale, and to all who visited us to shop. We hope to see you in the spring.
