break-in-no-text-barFor the second time in about two months a burglar has broken into the Sunoco Station at 809 Rockingham Road in Rockingham near the on ramps for I-91.

The first incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 12, when a lone burglar broke through the door of the station to steal cigarettes. A video surveillance camera captured an image of a man dressed in a hooded jacket. According to police,  that man took cartons of Marlboro and Newport cigarettes and left the store in less than a minute.

Yesterday, according to Vermont State Police, someone smashed through the glass front door and set off the alarm at about 4:11 a.m. VSP and Bellows Falls Police responded to the alarm but found no one there. Police said that 14 cartons of Marlboro and Newport cigarettes had been stolen but this time the surveillance system failed to record an image of the burglar.

Vermont State Police are asking anyone with information about this burglary to contact Trooper Nader Hashim at 802-254-2382.
