Chester’s Bonnie Watters will be celebrating 45 years of creating her unique dolls.

Bonnie’s Bundles Dolls of 250 North St. in the Stone Village in Chester is celebrating 45 years of doll making with a series of events.

The first will be held 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 15 and features three activities: wheat pasting images of the most popular dolls as a mural on the backside of the Watters’ garage; creating a timeline of greatest moments in the doll maker’s history with photos and words, followed by a barbecue.

Voting begins for CCCA calendar contest

Photos for the Cavendish Community and Conservation Association’s annual calendar contest have been collected and the association is asking residents of Cavendish and Proctorsville to vote for their favorites for inclusion in the 2014 CCCA calendar.

The photo with the most votes receives the Popular Choice Award.

Voting for Cavendish Town Elementary School students and their parents runs through Friday June 14. The public will then be able to vote  on Saturday, June 15 at Singleton’s General Store in Proctorsville, Tuesday June 18 to Thursday June 20 at the Cavendish Town Library and Friday June 21 through Friday July 5 at Crow’s Bakery on Depot Street in Proctorsville. Final voting will occur Saturday July 6 at Summer Fest at the Cavendish Historical Society Museum. Contest guidelines and rules are available at the CCCA website, www.CavendishCCCA.org. French Masterpieces for a Midsummer’s Night

The Brattleboro Concert Choir, directed by Susan Dedell, will perform Fauré Requiem as part of its French Masterpieces for a Midsummer’s Night 8 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Marlboro College’s Persons Auditorium, 2582 South Road, Marlboro. The concert will include Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine and Messe Basse, and the Te Deum of Marc Antoine Charpentier.

Soloists for the concert are soprano Junko Watanabe, countertenor Geoffrey Williams, tenor Matthew Hensrud and baritone David McFerrin.

Putney garden tour this weekend

Putney’s first Earth, Roots, Petals and Paths, a tour of perennial and vegetable gardens, will take place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16.

The tour is a benefit for the Putney Public Library and the Putney Central School Library.

Earth, Roots, Petals and Paths includes six private perennial and vegetable gardens including the Putney School gardens and farm, the Putney Central School garden and orchard and the renowned 4-acre garden created by Theodora and Peter Berg on Rice Mountain with the assistance of Gordon Hayward, garden designer, and Dan Snow, dry stonewall builder. The tour also includes the gardens of Rod Payne-Meyer, John Burt, Jen Cragin, Deb Grey and Susan and Marty Brennan-Sawyer. Poets Verandah Porche and Toni Ortner will read their works at one of the gardens. A picnic lunch, baked goods and beverages will be available at Sun Ledge Farm. Bring a picnic blanket.

Other events taking place Saturday at the Putney School include: a plant sale and a morning creative cooking workshop given by Ismael Samad, the chef of Putney’s The Gleanery restaurant.

Tickets are $15 per person or $25 for two (kids are free) and are available now and on the day of the tour at the Putney Public Library and at Rice Mountain in Walpole, N.H.
