Black River Produce’s co-owners Mark Curran and Steve Birge presented Springfield Hospital’s Larry Craft a check for $10,000, becoming the first sponsor of the Hospital’s Centennial Starlight Ball. The $10,000 contribution is at the highest sponsorship level: Diamond.
“We wanted our gift to make a difference and to encourage other gifts. As we celebrate Springfield Hospital’s 100th anniversary,” says Birge, “let’s all do what we can to ensure its next century of caring.”
The Centennial Starlight Ball is a black-tie gala fundraiser for the hospital that takes place on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Great Hall in the former Fellows Gear Shaper Building at 100 River St., Springfield.
Since Black River Produce’s donation, Okemo Mountain Resort joined at the Diamond Level and sponsors Bibens Home Center, Connecticut Valley Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, IPG Employee Benefits Specialists + Comprehensive Benefits Administrator, Springfield Pharmacy and Vermont Telephone Co. joined at the $5,000 Emerald level.
