To the editor: Thanks to all who helped make Fall Festival a success

Thanks to everyone in the community who came together to make the 40th Fall Festival a great success!  With a cool cloudy day on Saturday, vendors were pleased to find Sunday sunny and warm.

Both visitors and locals enjoyed the fine crafts displayed on The Green, watched craftspeople demonstrating their skills, had a face painted and sampled a variety of delicious foods.

The weekend kicked off the fall foliage season and The Green was full of positive energy.  The Chester Rotary Club celebrated 75 years of successful community service with free slices of birthday cake offered at the information booth on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Chester Rotary Club thanks all the vendors for their participation, demonstrators (Sue Ashe, Meg Kupiec, Wayne Miller), our sponsors (Country Treasures, Fullerton Inn, MacLaomainn’s Pub,  Mitch’s Maples, Newsbank, Skygate Financial and the Chester Bookworm) for their financial support, Bill Cole for security; Jiffy Mart for coffee, Stacy Bergman, Courtney Marsh, Doug Somerville, Michelle Summers for food trailer work, and friends of Rotary who supplemented the many Rotarian soups (Ruthanne Batchelder,  Emily Dakin, Tory Spater, Susan Spaulding, Gail Stewart, Rosann Sexton, Baba-a-Louis Bakery, Free Range Restaurant, Fullerton Inn, Heritage Bakery, the Inn Victoria, the Killarney, and the Stone Hearth Inn & Tavern).

Thanks also to the Chester Police Department for its cooperation and help in making The Green a safe place for everyone during the festival.  Finally, the Interact students from Green Mountain Union High School were great partners.  Alecia Rokes and Austin Barrows coordinated the students who worked hard all weekend doing a wide variety of jobs including parking, vendor relief, trash removal and evaluation pick-up.

Planning for next year’s Fall Festival will begin shortly so let us know if you want to help with this community event.
