Vermont State Police are reporting that around 8 this morning, a tractor-trailer being driven by William Jackson of Indian Orchard, Mass., was hauling milk on I-91 northbound when the driver lost control of the rig and it turned over in the median.
A second tractor-trailer trying to avoid the milk truck jack-knifed and turned over, blocking the road. Troopers closed the highway for about an hour and a half as they removed the second truck.
At 10 a.m. the road was opened intermittently as a crew worked to remove the first truck, which was about three quarters full of milk.
Police noted that the road was “snow/ice/slush” and the state’s 511 Online road map called conditions “difficult” at the time of the crash. Jackson sustained minor injuries but was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital at the request of the trucking company. There was no word about the other driver.
