Food drive enables Shaw’s in Ludlow to deliver truckloads to BRGNS

On Friday, Feb. 12, Shaw’s Ludlow grocery store director Scott Dickie and grocery manager Jeff Hance personally delivered and unloaded more than $3,000 worth of food for the Food Shelf at Black River Good Neighbors Services.
The donation was the result of “The Spirit of Giving” food drive held at Shaw’s Ludlow store during the recent holiday season.
Shaw’s Supermarkets have a long history of supporting and partnering with their local food shelves and this year’s holiday donation from the Ludlow store is exceptional, said BRGNS food program administrator Krey Kellington. “We were absolutely amazed by this donation,” she said. “Equally impressive was that both Scott and Jeff took the time to deliver and unload two full truckloads of food. This is a heartwarming display of true community support and we are extremely grateful.”
BRGNS is a non-profit food shelf and emergency financial assistance operation that depends on donations and volunteers to feed and otherwise help those in need. It serves Ludlow, Cavendish, Mount Holly and Plymouth. For information about BRGNS, call Kellington or Audrey Bridge at 802-228-3663.
